The Project
Master Drainage Study for the Kawana catchment, extending from Point Cartwright to Moffat Beach
Our Task
The scope of works included defining the existing stormwater network in conjunction with developing a rain on grid TUFLOW model to determine the overland flow/flooding characteristics within the catchment. Future (ultimate) land-use conditions were also considered.
Project delivery included:
- development of a concept design of mitigation measures;
- staging program; and
- cost estimate A mitigation solution for each catchment (and flow path) was developed based on ultimate land-use identified within the planning scheme.
Mitigations measures were devised (which were largely increase in pit and pipe capacity) to ensure overland flow and flooding outcomes achieved compliance with QUDM and planning scheme.

1,992 ha Catchment

Analysis of 8 development and climate scenarios

Identified 44 mitigation options
