The Project

The project involved preparation of a Flood and Stormwater Management Plan for the proposed Wanless Recycling Park at Coopers Road, Willowban. Located on Coopers Road. The site was approximately 591.248 ha in area and previously used as an open cut coal mine.

Our Task

The project proposed to use some of the open cut voids for landfill and develop the balance of the site for industrial purposes including recycling and waste management activities. As the project was positioned on Ebenezer Creek, the study required a flood impact assessment, which was undertaken using the 2 dimensional hydraulic modelling software (TUFLOW) and the development of Stormwater Management Plans. These plans outlined controls to manage stormwater runoff quality.
